It’s said that you can always tell if a place has good food by how busy it is. If that’s the case, then Café Mosman doesn’t have anything to worry about. Popular with locals for their organic coffee, friendly service and convenient location; Café Mosman on Military Road is always bustling with people enjoying the outdoors dining.

A delicious gluten free hot breakfast

Fronting on to Military Street, the café also opens on to the path that leads to the Mosman Library. Because of this, a majority of their seating is outdoors, in a pleasantly sunny area surrounded by trees. There’s a decent number of outdoor tables and chairs for patrons (as well as a few inside and out the front), but even so you will sometimes find eager diners waiting on nearby benches for a table to become free.

Eggs benedict is always a favourite when it's done so well.

Because Café Mosman is worth the wait. There’s nothing quite like simple, classic food done well, and that’s what Café Mosman offers. Whether an eggs benedict breakfast, an array of pastries, or even just a takeaway coffee; you’ll appreciate what the café has to offer. They do breakfast, lunch and walk-ins. They're happy to seat people without a booking. Not only that – they’ll do it with a smile.
The food is well-priced as well. Comparing it to similar establishments in the area, you’ll almost certainly find yourself saving a few dollars, even compared to those that don’t offer table service, which Café Mosman does. For those who are arranging events, they also offering catering.

Outdoor eating is a must on sunny days.

There are not a huge number of gluten free options for those that need them, but gluten free bread is available. As long as you order carefully, and ask the questions you need to ask, this gives you quite a few options to choose from - at least on the breakfast menu. They might be on the plainer side of the menu offerings, such as ham, cheese and mushroom omelettes - or eggs any style with a choice of sides, but they are well cooked, filling, and most definitely tasty.

Specials are always changing, and always worth checking out.

The cabinet inside is also always filled with tasty-looking treats. Apple, chocolate or poppyseed strudel, cupcakes, pistachio biscotti, caramel kisses, freshly baked croissants, friands, lamingtons and brownies are just a few examples of what you can expect to find.

Café Mosman is a favourite with locals.

The specials menu is constantly updating to suit the season. Winter will find offerings such as plum and rosemary lamb shanks with onion crushed potatoes, whereas the spring breakfast specials include such delights as Eggs Florencress (toasted sourdough with tomato salsa, spinach, sautéed mushrooms, fresh watercress and a poached egg, all topped with hollandaise sauce).

A Christmas touch inside only adds to the friendly atmosphere.

It truly says something about the café, that even on a busy street crowded with eating establishments - Café Mosman is always bustling. Perhaps it’s because their owners, who have run the café for just over a year, don’t consider it to be ‘work.’ Or perhaps it’s because they commit to building such a sense of community that a customer baked them a cake for the one year anniversary of the eatery. Whatever the reason, Café Mosman is a firm favourite for those who spend any time in the Mosman area.
