Outdoor seating at Grange provides a spectacular view.
Macarthur Grange Country Club is home to The Grange Function Centre and Restaurant. The restaurant is quite small and tucked away right at the back of the golf club. Upon entering we were greeted by a server who took us straight to a table on the restaurant's balcony. The outdoor seating at Grange overlooks the picturesque Varroville Valley and golf course.
Golf course view from our table.
Grange offers a $12 lunch menu on Tuesday and Wednesday and considerable discounts for members of the golf club. The lunch menu is quite extensive with a number of gourmet salad, burger and seafood options.
Grilled chicken and mango salad.
We decided against ordering mains and opted instead for the salads. Both arrived within 5 - 10 minutes of ordering and were incredibly well presented. The grilled chicken and mango salad ($14.50) was loaded with textures and flavours. Herb encrusted grilled chicken pieces were served with wedges of tomato, julienned spanish onion and carrots, and cashew nuts. Raspberry vinegar and mango chunks finished the dish.
Lamb rump salad.
The lamb rump salad ($20) was fresh and had a distinctly tangy flavour. Chargrilled slices of lamb were arranged a top a salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomato and thinly sliced capsicum. The salad was brilliantly arranged and served with a generous drizzling of mint yogurt.
Not wanting to take the view for granted we decided to finish the meal with a skim latte ($4.50) and green tea ($3.50), and continued soaking up the sun as we watched golfers on the course. I recommend going mid-week for lunch as the restaurant is quiet and meals are served incredibly quickly. Grange has a great menu, helpful staff and incredible views, it's the perfect place for a lazy lunch.
