Quite recently, Helm Bar & Bistro's Gold Members were in for a treat, among with some food writers sneaking in to join the party. Who would want to say no to a preview of Helm's new winter menu. Furthermore, guests also received a complimentary jam jar cocktail. The latter of which, Helm Bar & Bistro in Sydney's Darling Harbour is notoriously well known for.
Making a habit of getting stung
They're also well known for their pizzas too. Alas, none were served at this 'New Winter Menu Launch.' Otherwise, there were some great canapes that blended in beautifully with a lemony (Bee Sting) jam jar cocktail, without leaving any comfort zones here.
Delicious mushroom flavour in this treat. A popular one.
Pepper crusted salmon salad, and marinated chicken sliders have made it on their new menu. However, the winners have to be the spicy chicken drumettes with ranch sauce, as well as the ever so filling mushroom and bacon arancini balls. For the latter, great herb and mushroom flavours were enjoyed, and this treat literally went in seconds as soon as one of the wait staff brought these two dishes out to us. Speed photography is still something one is working on for such situations.
The chicken dishes were well seasoned, and the ranch sauce was a real treat with the drumettes. Simple, yet elegantly presented.
Right near the DJ. The Bee Sting Jam Jar Cocktail.
Kudos needs to go to the bar staff member who made my jam jar cocktail, and literally out of thin air. He was complimented on his efficiency, to only find out that he has worked behind a bar for almost 11 years.
Cheers to such good samples
A great night to shake off those winter blues for a moment. A good DJ was there, and there were free wine tastings, and champagne samples from Pommery outside.
