Visiting coffee shops while at a mall generally has not been my cup of tea. The purpose of my café visits generally would either be to catch up with friends, or to catch up with my work. Shopping mall cafes are not the ideal for either of these activities in my opinion, however since of late I have got into the habit of visiting mall cafes to grab a coffee on the go. If the food is well presented, I tend to even sit to nibble on something. This is how I ended up sitting at The Coffee Emporium in Castle Towers a couple of days ago.
It’s a pity this café is situated in a place where a café should not be: so close to a meat shop; a chicken shop, and a fish shop. I had to try couple of seating options just so I wouldn’t be facing raw fish and meat items while I tried to relax with my coffee and snack in tow.
The meals served at The Coffee Emporium has no bearing what so ever with where the cafe is situated. Simply put, the meals were absolutely delicious. They were as the menu suggests as being light but enough in potion, and great in taste.
A fan of smoked salmon, I ordered the smoked salmon and avocado stack. It was full of taste and very well presented. The white sauce infused with capers that came on the side was most certainly the icing on the cake.
My caramel latte was as good as a caramel latte could be. No complaints there, but when I could not finish my latte; the service staff were prompt to inquire if there was something amiss with the latte. I said that absolutely nothing was wrong with the latte, and carried on with the sumptuous light meal I had ordered.
