Scrumptious and delicious sashimi tasting plate
Having recently tried the
Event Cinemas version, it was time to give Umi Sushi and Udon at Darling Quarter (Darling Harbour) a proper try. Needless to say, when you don't have too much time on your hands, Umi Sushi and Udon delivers, and it is absolutely forgiven.
The challenge is in deciding whether to sit inside (in the sushi train) or outside, for a more personalised Umi udon experience.

Efficient staff all round
The staff are rather pleasant, and the service: utterly efficient. That is what you want. The menu is rather extensive, and this is in addition to the treats you can pick for yourself on the train. On this occasion, there was only time for one dish, and the Chefs Sashimi Tasting Plate ($9.80 for three) was a good choice.

An extensive menu offering, both on and off the train.
The sashimi pieces were clean, fresh, decently cut, chunky, and rather filling. A decent amount of strong wasabi was also supplied. Elegantly tasteful and presented. Such simple heaven, and money well spent. A busy establishment on a Saturday, and the wooden decor is pristine. Differently decorated to their Event Cinemas counterpart. This is where Japan meets Bali, they become friends, and the pace is not rushed. Glance to your left, if you are fortunate to be sitting in view of the bar, and (voila) the kids play land is right outside. Nature calls. So natural, and real, authentic Japanese food at it's best. Now thats tops.
