Cafe Prego Mosman

For a moment, it's like heaven. Come to Cafe Prego along Military Road in Mosman to unwind. A bit windy in late August to sit and eat outside (although a few people did), yet so cosy inside.

Just find yourself a table, and you'll feel settled. The ambience is great at first, and then the contemporary feel wears off a little. At least it doesn't on the menu. A great pit stop for a coffee and/or a hearty breakfast, to say the least. A perfect Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast destination. Healthy and decadent food that cheers you up, and warms up those insides.



The beautiful thing about this place is that, yes indeed, you can definitely have something sweet, and not feel guilty about it one iota. Cafe Prego is convenient. Right near the hub of Mosman, and right near the areas art gallery, with a little park in between. Love it.

The pancakes ($10.50) topped with strawberries, with either your choice of banana or blueberries, with vanilla ice cream, and as much maple syrup as you please, was just a real pleaser. A no brainer. It felt like I was tucking into an ice cream fruit cake at times, albeit a pancake. The batter is just right, yet you need the maple syrup to make the pancakes a little more moist, and drink some water too. Usually, when you ask for water at a cafe, you receive a jug and glass, not just a filled glass. All good anyway. Don't sweat the small stuff.



You need to be a little patient when ordering food here. There is a little wait, yet it's worth it, and the staff are rather friendly. Good to see. However, there is no need to enthusiastically take my plate away upon my final mouthful. There is a TV, and quite a few magazines to keep you occupied. Great to come here either alone or with others.



There is a $10 minimum transaction spend for EFTPOS transactions. Otherwise cash only. Not a place you'd want to come to all the time, however, Cafe Prego is still highly recommended.
