Grilld Penrith
If you've not yet devoured a Grill’d burger, then you're totally missing out.
Grill'd is a chain specialising in healthy, mouth-watering burgers in tonnes of flavour combos and with a variety of bun options from low-carb and bun free (*coughsaladcough*) for those watching their waists, to traditional and gluten-free for those in it for the flavour.
Conveniently located in Westfield Penrith.
Grill'd in Penrith is located on the ground floor of the Westfield in the dining precinct. The burger bar is casual, with banquette style seating lining the walls and natural wooden accents adding warmth to the space. Adding a hint of inner-city cool though is the
splatter of graffiti style artwork adorning the walls.
The graffiti style artwork adds a very cool vibe to the space.
Like most eateries nowadays you just walk in and order whatever takes your fancy at the counter. One thing that sets Grill'd apart from its rivals though are the little bottle cap tokens you're presented with after ordering. Grill'd are keen on supporting local charities - so just pop your bottle caps into whichever jar appeals to you most.
The sweet chilli chicken burger is light and tangy.
After something fresh and a little lighter, I went with the sweet chilli chicken burger ($10.50); grilled chicken breast, beetroot, shredded carrot, relish and sweet chilli mayo. The nice thing about Grill'd is that burgers can be customised - so to amp up the flavour I added some bacon. The bacon was a nice touch, and the chicken, covered in the spicy, tangy sauce was delicious. The sheer quantity of salad stuffed between this buns was a bit much though.
Chunky cut chips dusted with the Grilld herb mix.
Everyone knows that you must have chips with any good burger, and at Grill'd the chips ($4.80) are excellent - thick cut, golden crisp yet fluffy on the inside and dusted with a special herb seasoning. If golden fried potato isn't really your thing, or you just feel like 'options' with your burger you can also order sweet potato chips and zucchini chips which come on a share platter with a trio of dips ($13).

Overall the food was mouth-wateringly delicious. Portion sizes are perfect - filling, but not overwhelming - so you don't feel bad afterward, and the bun options as well as nutritional information on the menu mean everyone is catered for.
