High Tea at Lachlans Old Government House Parramatta

Beautiful high tea

Lachlan's Old Government House - Parramatta Park restaurant arguably is the most apt place for a function, whether it may be big or small. If a function is what you have in mind, you could opt to use one of the restaurants private dining rooms which are intimate but classy - or you could go with the option of al fresco dining in the area outside, taking in the atmosphere while you indulge in their scrumptious meal creations. Long vine covered verandas, combined with spacious well-kept gardens; the old government building on site all adds to the charm of the restaurant in giving that upmarket, exclusive dinning ambience.

Loved the ambience here also

The high tea at Lachlan’s ($44.00 per guest) which I indulged in during my most recent visit to the restaurant is highly recommended. The white linen covering the tables with strategically placed flowers, and the music playing in the background all but invite us to savour the now popular ‘high tea’ experience. The array of teas and coffees offered are like no other. From silk satchels of Australian teas, freshly brewed coffees, and choices of leaf teas to the juices and soft drinks are chosen with care to give the restaurant patrons only the best.

Exquisite

The savoury eats we tasted included Baby Bouchees, Ribbon Sandwiches and
Tortilla Rolls. They were full of flavour, yet not overly done. They were just enough to fill us leaving room for us to go on to the sweet treats without getting uncomfortable and unbuttoning our pants. Though I loved every one of the savouries placed in front of me, the best by far were the assorted canapés - of which were offered at the very beginning of our high tea service.

Yum, those hot scones.

The hot scones that were served at Lachlan’s were the freshest and the softest I have ever tasted. Though they were accompanied by conserve and whipped cream; the scones were delectable on their own. The elegant trays of petit fours included in the high tea service were not only eye pleasing, yet tasted as good as they looked.

Bliss

The staff at Lachlan’s were well trained and friendly, seeing to the needs of every guest. They didn’t hesitate to take time to explain the delicacies that were served to us. Lachlan’s without a doubt is an experience worth trying.
