Lord of the Fries Sydney

Lord of the Fries, a popular Melbourne past-time, (and still is) has now landed on Sydney's shores, and so far we're fairly happy about it. Lord of the Fries is a fast-food take away style establishment, that is rather vegan friendly. Lord of the Fries have just opened up shop at George Street, right near the cinemas complex, with a second soon to be store in Newtown, probably on King Street. Just need to keep our eyes and ears open on that.



Is there any hype involved? Have you had a chance to check this out? For example, come here at around 11:30am on a Sunday morning, and you're already finding the lunch time queues alive and well for their vegan fast food fix. Despite the perfect location, the store size is way too small and squashy; especially when a few of us have to wait for our treats...our made to order treats.

The Lifestyle Channel voted in Lord of the Fries as the best Vegetarian Restaurant in Australia, and we at Sydney Food Lovers would say so, even though the perception of this place is more so 'take away' as opposed to a restaurant.



Their fries, patties, buns, nuggets, sour creams and cheeses are all vegan sourced. Their eggs are certified free range.

Love the cone that comes with the chips, and hence went for some regular classic chips with London sauce, the latter of which is a vegan mayo special sauce. Quite cool, yet so delicious. It would be great if the sauce lasted right to the bottom of the fries cone, with otherwise the healthiest chips around. Otherwise, $4.95 for the chips, and an extra $1.25 for the sauce was fairly good value. However, even though the sauce range is rather extensive, we should not have to pay for sauce. Tomato sauce comes free here.



Their menu is impressive, and they're constantly evolving. Give them a bit more time, and Lord of the Fries is likely to take off in Sydney. Loved them on a late night while living in Melbourne.
