Nandos Rouse Hill
There is no doubt that
Nandos flamed grilled peri peri flavoured chicken has won the hearts of many a poultry fan. This is evident in the multitude of patrons that are seen in many a branch of this chain of restaurants. Rouse Hill Nandos is no exception. At any given time after 11am invariably, you will find quite a few customers dining in or waiting for take away at Nandos Rouse Hill.
Even though it is located in a shopping mall, the restaurant itself looks quite inviting with its large antique wooden doors leading into its clean and spacious interior. It is almost a hybrid between a fast food outlet and a dine in restaurant. The very first sensation that greets you as you enter its interior is that unmistakable aroma of flame grilled chicken. This almost invariably gets your mouth watering, and there is no escape from there onwards.
Rows and rows of bottles of those delicious Nandos sauces are lined up to tempt anyone who walks in, and I too have fallen pray and purchased from mild to very hot sauces to take home with me.
The staff here are quite pleasant, but lack that enthusiasm and vigour you'd expect from serving staff at a typical restaurant. It's almost as if they are afraid of their customers. I feel the staff should take a more relaxed and friendly attitude towards it's patrons. This is irrelevant if your visit involves take away, as most often it does. If you (however) do decide to sit down to enjoy your meal, the service is no different from what you get at a food court.
The food itself is delicious, and has the many typical variations of chicken based choices. This is not surprising as Nandos is almost exclusively known for its Portuguese style chicken. The menu includes flame grilled chicken, burgers, pitas, wraps with many extras. They also have a separate kids menu.
The mains are available to share or for one.
Be warned: if you are thinking of ordering take-away. Even though rare, there is that possibility of experiencing disappointment as I did when opening the take away box, and finding burnt pieces of charcoal which were meant to be chicken tenderloins.
