Pasticceria Papa, Haberfield.

If ever I needed a reason to move to Haberfield, I have it in Pasticceria Papa . They sell simply the most delicious, mouthwatering Italian treats you could imagine.

Famous for their huge range of Italian biscotti, cannoli and cakes; Papa also has gelato, bread, and an excellent café.

The queue moves quickly at Pasticceria Papa

While there was a queue when we first arrived, it moved smartly, thanks to the excellent service and plenty of staff on hand. That’s a big tick for Papa.

Hard to resist to goodies in the window

In fact, the service was amazingly good. Very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I just can’t fault this place. It’s no wonder I want to move to Haberfield.

Delicious biscotti, doughnuts, cakes and more.

The recipes used at Pasticceria Papa are Sicilian, and if you have been to Sicily, you’ll know just how seriously they take their sweets.

There are about 15 tables in the busy café. I had an Italian doughnut which was filled with a rich, thick and creamy chocolate custard; much like the custard in the cannoli. Sensational. As someone very disappointed in the choice of doughnuts in Sydney these days; I was delighted by this light, custard-filled, cinnamon sugar-coated slice of heaven.

Enjoy a coffee and cake in the café

My wife had a ricotta cannoli that was nicely filled, and not hollow like some. Again, a winner. The coffee was delivered to the table in quick time.

The popular ricotta cheesecake

We bought some full-sized cakes to take home for a birthday party. The ricotta cheesecake was brilliant, and I’m led to believe one of their biggest sellers. I’m not a big fan of cheesecake, but this one was raved about at the party, and I enjoyed it immensely.

Great cakes for celebrations

We also bought a caramel mousse cake, which was very sweet - the sort of sweetness you’ll enjoy more with a fork in one hand and a coffee in the other.

Who doesnt love gelato

They also sell pizza and other Italian foods if you’re after more of a meal.

Give your taste buds a treat and visit Pasticceria Papa. You too might want to move to Haberfield.
