Pizza Tuttis Northbridge
The chilli con carne pizza on a gluten free base
Pizza lovers living in Sydney really are spoilt for choice. There are so many places that do spectacular pizzas, it can be hard to choose a favourite. But that's exactly what I've done with
Pizza Tutti in Northbridge on the lower North Shore. Their pizzas are my favourites in all of Sydney for many reasons, just one of which is that they offer gluten free pizzas.
Equally tasty is the prosciutto pizza
For those, like me, who must eat gluten free; pizza places can often be a concern despite the number of ones that now advertise gluten free bases. This is because many assume the base is all that needs to be changed, leaving you guessing about which toppings are safe to eat. Not so at Pizza Tutti. Their menu is very clearly marked as to which pizza toppings are able to go with a gluten free base to make an entirely gluten free pizza.
A real selection of gelatos to choose from
Another thing gluten free people will be glad of is how tasty the gluten free bases are. They are not crumbly or hard. In fact, the first time I had a takeaway pizza from Pizza Tutti, I rang them in a panic thinking they'd forgotten to make it on a gluten free base. Over the phone they assured me it was gluten free, and their knowledge left me feeling extremely comfortable. Their bases really are just so tasty that it's easy to mistake them for the gluten-filled kind. And for those who can't or don't like to eat dairy, you can also order dairy free cheese.
Just the names are enough to get the mouth watering
Even if you don't need gluten free food though, you will love Pizza Tutti. Their toppings are of the gourmet kind, using fresh and creative ingredients to put a delicious spin on regular favourites. I can happily recommend the four cheese (fetta, gorgonzola, mozarella and parmesan), chilli con carne (beef chilli con carne, spanish onions, green capsicum, tomato, sour cream and guacamole) and prosciutto (prosciutto, green capsicum, avocado, brie cheese and sundried tomato pesto). And I am really looking forward to trying out some of their other pizzas, such as the pork belly or lamb aioli.
Bringing home one of the yellow boxes is bringing home a taste sensation
For those who want to indulge in a pizza but are a little more weight-conscious, Pizza Tutti offers low fat cheese as an option. They also have a number of salads, some of which are also gluten free. There are a small handful of pasta choices, and sides can include garlic bread, chicken wings and side-style pizzas.
Pizzas can be eaten there or as take away
Pizza Tutti also caters to a sweet tooth. Dessert pizzas have a cream patisserie base, and come with sweet toppings like caramelised banana, roasted nuts, fresh fruit and chocolate fudge sauce. Unfortunately none of these are yet available in gluten free options. There are also a large number of gelatos, with flavours ranging from honey toffee malt to berry pavlova, to chocolate brownie caramel fudge.
The Pizza Tutti menu is varied and exciting
You can either eat in or get your food take away from Pizza Tutti. They also do home delivery to selected areas for only $3.00. Parents will particularly love the kids corner, where kids can have their choice from a number of pizzas or some spaghetti bolognese for only $6.50.
