Spoon Fork Croydon

Located at 23 Hennessy Street Croydon is the cutest little shop. Spoon and Fork is a cookies and cake shop, however, once you step inside there is so much more that awaits you. Be warned though, you will not come out empty handed. There is such a variety of homewares that you simply can’t help yourself. What I meant to say was that I couldn’t help myself with a small box of cakes; together with a few espresso cups and a milk holder later I had to drag myself out of there - or I was taking a lot more home.



Spoon and Fork has been here for just over a year selling cakes and sweet treats. They are looking in the near future at adding coffee to the menu, and with some seating I have no doubt that it will become quite popular with the locals.



As I was taking photos, my eyes kept darting back and forth across the shop wondering what I was going to buy. There was so much to look at. They had cookies with little messages of love on them, together with some big love heart lollipops, as well as jars full of different types of treats.



There were cake holders, coffee cups, canisters, and those lovely little glass jars that seem to be quite popular. They also had wrapping paper, cars, balloons. In fact way too many things to list, you will have to go and see for yourself.



Of course there was the glass cake cabinet. Small different flavoured cupcakes beautifully presented. The only decision you had to make was which one to buy: Chocolate, Red Velvet or Caramel. Or perhaps you might prefer a Lemon Tart or a Caramel Slice.



Arriving home, I had no other choice but to try the Red Velvet cupcake. To say this was divine is not giving it enough credit. It was so soft, moist and absolutely delicious. It simply melted in my mouth. Accompanied with an espresso in my new cup, this was the perfect afternoon treat. Make sure you put Spoon and Fork on your list of stores to visit. You will love it. Oh and by the way, don’t forget to take money. Those little glass jars (do indeed) shout out those two condescending words: ‘buy me.’.
