Thai Spice House Cremorne
Gluten free home delivered salt and pepper squid
There are an abundance of places for Sydney-siders to eat Thai food when the craving hit them. One of my personal favourites is
Thai Spice House in Cremorne on Military Road, which offers authentic Thai food with house specials and gluten free options are also available.
Panang curry is always a favourite
The menu at Thai Spice House is so varied that if you're anything like me when it comes to decision making, you might actually find it difficult. Let me recommend a few to you: the Yellow Curry and the Panang Curry are both delicious and filling, especially when ordered with some coconut rice with cashew nuts. They can also be ordered gluten free.
Tom Kha soup is the perfect remedy for a sore throat
The Yellow Curry is mild and savoury, with hearty chunks of potato and crispy shallots adorning the top to really tantalise those tastebuds. The Panang, thick and fragrant, is a hard one to go past, and I find it especially good when ordered with beef.
Thanks to a recent cold that left me runny-nosed and with a sore throat, I discovered the healing delight of the Tom Kha soup. Hot, aromatic and gluten free, it was exactly the thing I was looking for to soothe my sore throat and fever, and it really did the trick. I added chicken to it (you are given the option of chicken, beef, mushrooms, vegetables, prawns or seafood) to make it into a really health-promoting broth. And taking advantage of their home delivery service (to select suburbs) made it all so easy.
My favourite side to order is the coconut rice with cashews
Thai Spice House is one of the few places I've found that also offers a number of gluten free options in their entrees. A couple of my favourites have been the satay chicken skewers, and the salt and pepper squid. In fact, this is only one of a handful of places that I've ever seen do gluten free salt and pepper squid, so I always order it when I'm there. It comes with sweet chilli sauce and a lime wedge, but I find it is so tasty it doesn't really need it.
There are many gluten free options on the menu
Gluten free options are all over the menu, ranging from the aforementioned entrees, to any of the curries, soups, a number of salads and barbeque dishes and sides. They also have gluten free beer available, which is both a nice and rare touch.
Thai Spice House is open for both lunch and delivery, and offers a take-away service for those who prefer not to eat in. As said before, I'm a bit of a sucker for their home delivery, as it's one of the fastest around that I've seen. The food always arrives piping hot, and I've never once come across a mistake in the order, which is comforting when you have to eat gluten free.
Mouth watering Thai food
If you're craving some delicious Thai food and you're in the area, I really couldn't recommend Thai Spice House enough. I have no doubt that you'll be wanting to go back again and again, until you've had the chance to try everything on the menu. That's what I'm working on, and there hasn't been a thing yet that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed.
