The Restaurant at the Art Gallery of New South Wales
Tucking into the terrine with salad
Priceless views to begin with.
paves the way for a great way to unwind. Either you've been to an art exhibition, or you could be here for a private function. Either way, the simple elegance and space is fantastic. The harbour views are top notch.
Priceless views of Sydney Harbour
Although a fantastic place, the pleasure does not extend beyond the ambience. Came here to a private function recently, and although the menu selection was quite healthy - it was rather limited. Mainly cold dishes, and nothing really of the warm variety. Felt like a glass of red, yet they were only serving wine of the white variety. Opted for some guava juice ($4.50) instead.
A closer view of the terrine
Otherwise the chicken terrine in the terrine with salad ($14) dish was fantastic. It might be overpriced, yet for quality terrine - this lifted the dish up to new heights. From what could look like tin manufactured quality is rather delicious, fresh and healthy. Loved the tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber pieces in my salad with the dressing they used. Great to see a couple of tiny bread pieces. Sadly, the onions were quite thick and too overpowering.
Great, social vibe.
The service was good. It was professional. A restaurant in the Art Gallery of New South Wales should carry credit card merchant facilities. We could only pay cash. A great space to unwind otherwise.
The main bar. Where you order everything.
