Tree Tops is in Club Grandviews

If you find yourself in Peakhurst in Sydney’s South, and you’re feeling peckish; you’ll enjoy a good meal at Tree Tops Restaurant .

Under new management, Tree Tops is located in Club Grandviews, which is a popular Peakhurst bowling club on Forest Road on the way to Lugarno in Sydney's south.

The cuisine used to be all Chinese, but under the new management, it has incorporated a more Australian/Western cuisine into the menu.

Chinese or western cuisine

The service at Tree Tops is excellent. Very friendly and fast. There are about 15 tables, including large ones for groups and smaller ones for couples right near the window with the lovely view.

The food is great. Recently, I went with a group of about 10 people, and most of us chose from the traditional Chinese meal options. Each dish was served piping hot, and all of the ingredients were fresh - of which I find you don’t always get at Chinese restaurants, and it can be pretty obvious when the food isn’t fresh.

Got to love the garlic prawns

It was a Sunday evening, and many diners in the restaurant chose the Sunday Roast. On this occasion it was a pork chop with veggies for $9.80. The chop was enormous. No wonder so many people were ordering it.

The Western cuisine included salads, steaks and burgers; while the Chinese cuisine was mainly a choice of chicken, beef and seafood dishes - plus a range of rice dishes.

Nice salads in the western menu

My daughter chose a low fat option in the chicken salad. Some went for the mouth-watering garlic prawns. I had Beef Peking, mainly so I could discover what Peking sauce tasted like. I don’t recall ever having it before. For your reference, it was slightly sweet and spicy; not too far away from a traditional sweet and sour sauce.

So thats the Beef Peking

They have other specials during the week, including a $6.50 Lunch Special and a Tuesday night buffet for just $10 a head. There are daily specials, and as you would expect, they have set menu options for groups. Kids meals start at $6. Overall, the value is excellent.

Tree Tops also has a small but delicious range of desserts available too.

Mmmmm dessert

It’s called Tree Tops because you quite literally look out at the tops of the pine trees that border the Club and Gannons Park.

Tree Tops is open from Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner. Remember, it's a club so you'll have to be a member or sign in.
