Well Co Cafe Glebe

For those after a quaint little breakfast spot located a short walk from the University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney, look no further than Well Co. Café located conveniently along Glebe Point Road.

The cafés design maintains a casual and warm atmosphere.

Although the café doubles as a wine bar at night, it is easily seen as a prime breakfast hangout for those who want a delicious meal in a cosy setting. The interior features splashes of red, retro furniture and unique artworks. It’s not difficult to imagine how some dim lighting and music transforms the café into a popular spot for those night owls out there. For the early risers and brunch-lovers, large open windows and a few outdoor tables make for a pleasant daylight dining experience.

The wide open windows establish the café as a welcoming local hangout.

The breakfast menu boasts a mixture of sweet and savoury, with the likes of ricotta pancakes and eggs Benedict making notable appearances. Undoubtedly, the showstopper on the menu is the Moroccan hotpot. Perfect for those colder Sydney mornings, the dish combines the perfect ingredients to leave you wanting to lick the bowl clean. Consider poached eggs in a tomato-based stew with chorizo, eggplant, dukkah and Danish feta, all served with two slices of garlic toast. Delicious.

The breakfast drinks menu also fails to disappoint, with a fairly diverse range of coffees, smoothies (of both the green and fruity varieties) and frappes available. For those who don’t like full cream milk, the café offers soy as a welcome replacement. Any green tea lover will be pleased to find the matcha latte on the menu, which has the perfect amount of matcha – a flavour that can be unpleasantly overpowering if overused. But no fear, the latte is slightly sweet and very creamy, exactly how it should be.

Anyone with a sweet tooth will be happy to know that Well Co. stocks some pretty serious desserts in addition to the main menu. By the counter, a glass window showcases a delectable collection of brownies, pastries, tarts, muffins and (my personal favourite) cronuts. This provides for a tempting post-breakfast dessert or, for those on the go, a sweet treat to go alongside a takeaway morning coffee.

Well Co. stocks a range of desserts that look absolutely mouthwatering

With decent prices, a convenient location for many students, an indoor and outdoor dining option, a cosy atmosphere and a scrumptious menu that caters for both the sweet and the savoury, Well Co. Café will easily become your new go-to breakfast spot.
